Dental Implants

Even the loss of a single tooth can compromise the beauty of your smile and lead to oral health problems.

Fortunately, dental implants can completely restore the aesthetics of your smile and the strength of your bite.

What Are
Dental Implants?

Dental Implants

Dental implants are small metal posts, typically made of titanium, that are placed in the jaw to provide an unparalleled level of support to crowns, bridges, and dentures. Whether you are missing one tooth or multiple teeth, dental implants can be used to secure your restoration.

After the implants are placed at our dental practice, we attach the abutment piece, which can then be connected to a restoration that blends in with surrounding natural teeth. In the case of complete tooth loss, we can place a full denture to restore your smile.

I have been a patient of Dr. Ron L Shiver for many years. My experience with his office staff, the dental assistants, hygienist as well as Dr. Shiver himself have always been a very pleasant one. I've had cleanings, crowns, and teeth pulled in his office always with very wonderful out come. I would highly recommend Dr. Shiver to anyone.

I have been going to Dr Shiver for many many years. I would not go any where else. He is the kindest caring dentist and so are his staff. They don't treat you like just another patient. And I can't say enough about my dental hygienist Stephanie, she is awesome!!

The Placement
Procedure

Dentists at many other practices will refer their patients to an outside surgeon for the placement of dental implants. When you choose Dr. Shiver for your dental implant procedure, he will perform virtually every step of treatment to ensure you receive the highest level of care.

On the day of your implant surgery, we will begin by administering anesthesia for your comfort.
Next, Dr. Shiver will creating small incisions in the treatment area.
The dental implants can then be placed directly in your jaw. The number of implants will depend on the type of restoration we will be supporting.
We may place a temporary restoration for you to wear during the healing process.
After surgery, the implants will be left to heal for four to six months, during which time they will fuse directly with the surrounding bone through a process known as osseointegration.
Once the implants have integrated with your jaw, Dr. Shiver will top them with an abutment, which is a connector that rests above the gum line.
During your final visit, we will attach your permanent restoration to instantly restore the strength, function, and beauty of your smile.
